J. Timothy "Tim" Santomieri, 87, of Kulpmont, passed away on June 6, 2026, at his residence after two months of illness.

He was born in Atlas, PA, the son of the late Julius Santomieri and Edith (Oberosler) Santomieri Odorizzi.

Tim graduated from Mount Carmel Joint Senior High School, Class of 1957. He remained active in the high school community, coordinating multiple class reunions and remained a passionate fan of the Red Tornadoes football team, including serving as a game announcer for several seasons.

He served in the US Coast Guard from 1957-1961. Following his military discharge he worked various jobs, settling into a career as a lineman for PPL, where he spent 27 years until he retired in 1995.

On June 25, 1960, he married his high school sweetheart, Eleanor Moratelli, in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Mount Carmel. Together they have four children, Lisa Miller of Mt. Carmel, Sandy Lubker of Charlotte, NC, Tim Santomieri of Harrisburg, and Susan Wilcox of Atlanta, GA, and six grandchildren, Stephen and Zachary Miller, Ryan Lubker, Nicholas, Jared, and Haylie Santomieri.

He was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. He was a Fourth Degree and Honorary Life Member of the Mount Carmel Knights of Columbus, where he served as Grand Knight in 1976. He was also a member of the VFW and American Legion.

Tim was active in youth sports and was instrumental in the creation of the MC Jets youth football program in the early 60s, which was foundational for developing players for the future MCA High School football Championship teams. In addition, he was a licensed PIAA Football and basketball official, coached CYO basketball, and served as "coach" and mentor to his children and grandchildren in their athletic endeavors.

Tim lived life to the fullest, enjoying many hobbies throughout the years, including golfing, bowling, fishing, hunting, and camping. The numerous family vacations he planned created memories to last his family a lifetime.

Tim is survived by his wife, four children, a son-in-law, Mark Wilcox, six grandchildren, and multiple cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald Santomieri.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont, PA. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass in the Church.
