Mount Carmel – James L. Olley, 87, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021, at his residence.

He was born at home in Shamokin on April 28, 1934, the son of James and Helen (Kwaikoski) Olley.

On November 7, 1959 in Mount Carmel, he married Rosalie Karlovich, who survives. Together they shared 62 years of marriage.

James was a member of Divine Redeemer Church, a life member of East End Fire Co., and Pace/Steel Workers Union.

James is survived by his wife, Rosalie Olley of Mount Carmel; a son, Mark Olley & wife, Nicole of Mount Carmel; two granddaughters, Jamie Olley and Maura Olley; a grandson, Nicholas Olley; two great-grandchildren, Daniel Lawler and Jaidan Spade; a brother, Carl Olley; a brother-in-law, Thomas Karlovich; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and best buddy, his dog, Ralphie. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by son, James T. Olley; brother, Edward Olley and wife, Shirley; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Helen (Zolnierowicz) Karlovich; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Olley and Margaret Karlovich.

James L. Olley, 87, of Mount Carmel – Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Father Ryan Fischer officiating in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 West Ave., Mt. Carmel, PA 17851. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Viewing will be held prior to the Mass from 9 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. with transferal prayers at 10 a.m. in the C. J.
