Kulpmont – Janice A. Marcheski, 74, of 301 N 6 ^th Street, Apt 204, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021 in her home.

Born in Shamokin on December 13, 1946 she was the daughter of the late Madalyn Weikel. She graduated from Shamokin High School in 1964. She was very close to her grandmother Arfie C. Weikel, who was the most influential person in her life as she always talked about her.

On June 3, 2006 in Shamokin she married Alvin "Cookie" F. Marcheski who preceded her in death in 2013. She was a member of Kulpmont First United Methodist Church. She worked at Serenity Gardens as a housekeeper.

Janice is survived by two sons, Douglas Weikel and his wife, Heather of Bellefonte, and Thomas Dobeck and his wife, Amy of Barnesville; a daughter, Tara Pierce of Selinsgrove; two granddaughters, Nadine Dobeck, and Bree Dobeck; one grandson, Joshua Weikel; a step grandson, Jimmy Wagner; a great granddaughter, Kailee Stewart; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, especially Laura Howerter, who was like a sister to her. In addition to her husband and parents, Janice was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Weikel; and her two dogs, who she loved very much, Simon and Holly.

Janice A. Marcheski, 74, of 301 N 6 ^th Street, Apt 204, Kulpmont – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2021 AT 11:00 am with Reverend Joan Brown, officiating at C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut Street, Kulpmont, Malcom Farrow IV, Supervisor. Burial will be held in Northumberland Memorial Park following the service.
