Atlas - Jean Scicchitano Hancock, beloved mother and Nona, was taken home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 6th, after a long hard-fought battle of 27 years with COPD. She was surrounded by those who loved her immensely.

Jeannie was born on October 10, 1944 in Shamokin, to Guido Scicchitano and Teresa (Tomedi) Scicchitano. She was 77 when she was taken from this world.

Jean married her high school sweetheart, Robert Butch Hancock at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Atlas on August 7th 1965, who preceded her in death in 1981. Jean met the second love of her life, David Scott who was her best friend.

Jean retired from Northumberland County. She retired early to spend every moment she could with her grandchildren.

When she was in good health, Jean was an avid shopper, decorator, and loved to travel with her Dave. As her health declined, she enjoyed spending her time on Facebook, playing Candy Crush, and looking for decorating ideas on Pinterest, as well as Face Timing her children and grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her children, Justine Hancock of Atlas, Guidyne Little and husband, Scott of Den Mar Gardens, Bobbi Weaver and husband, Eric of Elysburg; six grandchildren, who were her entire world, Robert and Jordan Klingler of Atlas, Cody Little and wife, Amber of Mechanicsburg, Bailey Little of Den Mar Gardens, and Anthony and Aaron Yuskalis of Elysburg; Jean's twin sister, Joan Duda and husband, Ron of Atlas; a sister-in-law, Margaret Martini of Springfield; two nieces, Janel Stahlnecker and Maria Kelchner; four bonus children, Michael Scott and wife, Billie Jo of PA, Kimberly Ellington and husband, Aaron of NC, Steven Scott and wife, Stacy of PA, and Karen Spence and husband, Brandon of TN; nine bonus grandchildren, Lynellen and Clay Scott, Kiersten, Kylie, Kelsey Ellington, Tyler and Hannah Scott, and Oliviah and Savanna Spence. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Butch, Jean was preceded in death by a sister, Romaine Scicchitano.

Jean Scicchitano Hancock of Atlas– Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 12 p.m. with Father Ryan Fischer officiating in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 W. Ave., Mt. Carmel. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp. Viewing will be held from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. with transferal prayers at 11 a.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc. 27 N. Vine St., Mt.
