Mount Carmel – Jean Ann (Latshaw) Long, 87, of 812 West 5th St., passed away on February 17, 2024, at her residence.

She was born in Ashland on June 20, 1936, the daughter of the late Adam and Anna (Emrich) Latshaw.

Jean was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Mt. Carmel, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the Beaverdale Fire Co.

Jean is survived by a son, Rick Long and wife, Peggi of Mount Carmel; grandchildren, Matthew Minnig and companion, Steph Stewart, Ami Minnig, Megan Savitski and husband, Matt, Kristin Malick and husband, Josh, Mark Minnig and fiancé Madison Joe O'Leary, Lisa Womer, and Denise Kijewski; great-grandchildren, Aurora Minnig, Perci Pilkus, Ryland Malick, Pierce Smith, David Womer, Sullivan Womer, and Maggie Womer and Daniel Kijewski; three brothers, Adam Latshaw and wife, Angie of Kulpmont, Mike Latshaw of Mount Carmel, and James Latshaw of Mount Carmel; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Long; two sons, Robert Long and Steven Long; a daughter, Joanne Kijewski; and siblings, Dot, Ruthann, Lily, Thomas, John, and Leroy.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kay Painter officiating in the Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary Mt. Carmel VFW Post 2110, at 19 W. 2nd St., Mount Carmel, PA 17851.
