Elysburg – Joan M. (Ambrose) Bubnis, 72, of 139 Robin Lane, passed away December 27, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born in Taylor, PA on January 2, 1949, the daughter of Joseph and Ann (Mando) Ambrose.

Joan graduated high school in Taylor in 1966.

On May 2, 1970 she married Peter Bubnis. Together they shared 51 years of marriage.

Joan was a member of Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church.

Joan is survived by her husband, Peter Bubnis of Elysburg; daughter, Jennifer Wolfe and husband, Joshua of Elysburg; two sons, Jason Bubnis and wife, Alana of New Cumberland and Jeffrey Bubnis and wife, Alexandra of West Chester; a grandson; three granddaughters, Madelyne Glasgow, Lena Bubnis, and Sophia Bubnis; three brothers, Joseph Ambrose and wife, Nancy of Scranton, Robert Ambrose of NV, and Michael Ambrose and wife, Judy of Taylor; three sisters, Nancy Holovack of Taylor, Rose Mary Opiela of Scranton, and Christina Delasandro of Taylor; five sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Boyle and husband, Michael of Boyertown; Patricia Bubnis of Danville, Mary Puza of Shamokin, Dolores Winterstein of MD, and Andra Dell and husband, Douglas of Altoona; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Peter and Elizabeth (Zubey) Bubnis.

Joan Bubnis, 72, 139 Robin Lane, Elysburg – Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at

11 a.m. with Father Joseph Scanlin officiating in the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 599 W. Center St. Elysburg, PA 17824. Burial will private. Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass in the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Parish Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to AstraZeneca Hope Lodge, 110 West Laurel Ave. Cheltenham, PA 19012, in Joan's memory. Arrangements are in care of C. J.
