Mount Carmel - Joan "Joanne" (Filohoski) Wagner, 85, of 351 S. Willow St., passed away on June 12, 2023 at Geisinger – Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

She was born in Wilburton on July 28, 1937, the daughter of the late Alexander and Sophie (Bersetski) Filohoski.

Joan attended Our Mother of Consolation School and graduated Con-Cen High School, class of 1955.

On May 28, 1960, in Our Mother of Consolation Church, Mount Carmel, she married the late Robert William Wagner, who preceded her in death in 2015.

She was a former member of Our Mother of Consolation Church, now Divine Redeemer Church. Joan was a homemaker and a proud Marine wife. She was a member of the VFW Post 2110, Mount Carmel Auxiliary, and past Auxiliary District President. Joan was a participant at LIFE Geisinger, Kulpmont and considered other participants and staff to be very good friends and her second family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joan is survived by three sons, Kevin Wagner and his wife, Meghan, and their daughter, Rev. Bridget Wagner, all of Mount Carmel, Brian Wagner and his wife, Trish, of Atlas, and their sons, Tyler and wife, Emily of South Williamsport and their two daughters, Kennedy and Maxine, Nathan and his significant other, Karley Spangler and their son, Ayden of Atlas, and Timothy Wagner of Mount Carmel. In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by four brothers, Alex, Matthew, Fabian, and Joseph; and four sisters, Bernadine, Theresa, Dolores, and Jeanette.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. with a Christian Wake Service at 8 p.m. and Friday, June 16, 2023 from 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, C. J. Lucas IV, supervisor. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 11 a.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. Burial will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
