Mount Carmel – John G. Dimitratos, 75, of 453 W. 3 ^rd Street, passed away on March 29, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born on February 2, 1948, in Xenopoulo, Kefalinias, Greece, he was the son of the late Gerasimos and Athanasia (Tzamarias) Dimitratos.

John attended school in Kefalinias, Greece and served in the Greek Navy. In November of 1972, he moved to the United States with his younger brother, Nicholas and lived in Brooklyn, NY. On August 26, 1973, in New York City he married the late Tammy Mammis, who preceded him in death on March 29, 2019.

John was a member of St. Michael's Orthodox Church. He was the owner of the Greek Isle Restaurant in Mount Carmel. John enjoyed writing in his journal and reading books.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry Dimitratos and wife, Emanuela of Greece, Tommy Dimitratos and wife, Catrina of NY, and Nick Dimitratos and wife, Jaime of Mount Carmel; eight grandchildren, Sophia, John, Loreno, Angela, Stamatia, Arianna, Gabriella, and Samantha; three brothers, Nicholas Dimitratos and wife, Kyriaki of NY, Kostas Dimitratos and wife, Anna of NY, and Elias Dimitratos of Greece; an uncle, Don Dimitratos and wife, Shirley of CA; five cousins, Don Dimitratos and wife, Adrienne of Seattle, WA, Nancy Dimitratos of CA, Tina Dimitratos of CA, Gary Dimitratos of CA, and John Dimitratos of Hawaii; and great cousin, Phillip Dimitratos of Seattle, WA; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins surviving.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Vjekoslav Jovicic in St. Michael's Orthodox Church, Mount Carmel. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Orthodox Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp. Viewing will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. – 9 p.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mt. Carmel and Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 12 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. in St. Michael's Orthodox Church, Mt. Carmel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Michael's Orthodox Church, 131 N. Willow St., Mt. Carmel, PA 17851.
