Mount Carmel – John "Jackie" Simmons, 69, of 526 West 2 ^nd Street, passed away January 25, 2022.

He was born in Philadelphia on August 29, 1952, the son of the late Frank and Jane (Shehorn) Simmons.

Jackie was a graduate of William Tennant High School, Philadelphia. He was a former mechanic. Jackie was a member of the Clover Hose fire Co., Mt. Carmel. He loved watching football, especially his favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jackie is survived by three sisters, Jean Kramer of Mt. Carmel, Leona Chmielewski and husband, Joe of Mt. Carmel, and Juanita Reichenbach and husband, Michael of Trevorton; a brother, Leroy Simmons of Mt. Carmel; a brother-in-law, Paul Vincenzes and wife, Velvet of Mt. Carmel; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jane (Shehorn) Simmons; two brothers, Frank Simmons Jr. and Harry D. Simmons; and a sister, Jane M. Vincenzes.

Carmel – Due to a chance of inclement weather the funeral service will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 12 p.m. with Pastor Patrick Ferris officiating in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine Street, Mt. Carmel, PA, C. J. Lucas IV, Supervisor. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service in the Funeral Home.
