Mount Carmel - John Strahotsky, 94, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.

Born in Kulpmont, he was the son of the late Theodore and Anna (Beck) Strahotsky.

John was a graduate of Kulpmont High School.

During his life, John had always been a faithful provider for his family.

He was member of Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church. In addition to taking the weekly collection, John regularly volunteered whenever asked. Even though it was painful at times, he always had a smile. His favorite chore at the church was to make "pigeons" for special occasions.

John loved rooting for all the local and PA sports teams and he was a wonderful cook. His pride and joy was his garden. He enjoyed the daily word search puzzles. Each evening at 7, he looked forward to checking to see if he hit the "Big Cash 5". Unfortunately, he never did.

In his later years, he had many health issues, but rarely complained. Somehow he was able to maintain his sense of humor. He was always more concerned about how you were doing and what he could do for you.

John leaves behind a loving and heartbroken daughter, Deborah Strahotsky Braid; and his loving companion of 47 years, Delores Mulkusky. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by three sisters, Ann Baskera, Helen Paskevich, and Mary Kuziak; and five brothers, Andrew, Joseph, Mike, Steve and Ted.

Rest in peace, Daddy. God is waiting for you with your "Big Cash 5" reward. You finally hit the jackpot.
