Kulpmont – John P. "Teddy" Tomtishen Jr., 66, of 525 Spruce St., passed away on January 26, 2024, at his residence.

He was born in Coal Township on August 16, 1957, the son of the late John P. Tomtishen Sr. and Shirley R. (Brown) Tomtishen.

John was a lifelong resident of Kulpmont. He was a graduate of Mount Carmel Area High School, class of 1975. John worked as a laborer with the Heavy and Highway Construction Local Union 158.

On June 6, 1987, in St. Casimir's Church, Kulpmont he married the former Lynn L. Barwick.

John was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Kulpmont Sportsmen Association, the West End Fire Association where he was also a former chief, and the American Legion Post 231. John cherished his time spent with his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, foraging mushrooms, listening to Polka music, playing the accordion, and playing the daily numbers.

John is survived by his wife, Lynn L. Tomtishen of Kulpmont; two sons, John P. (Kelly) Tomtishen III of Lebanon Twp., NJ, and David P. (Tracy) Tomtishen of Catawissa; a granddaughter, Claire D. Tomtishen; two sisters, Shirley Ann (Joseph) Zenyuch of Reading and Donna (Marlin) Hodge of Kulpmont; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, at noon with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont. Burial will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Marion Heights. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. with transferal prayers at 11 a.m. in the C J Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont.
