Mount Carmel – Joseph J. Amrich, 87, of 132 S. Maple Street, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born in Philadelphia on February 5, 1933, the son of the late Theresa Amrich.

Joseph was a graduate of St. John's School, Mt. Carmel and Mount Carmel High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Master Sergeant. He later worked as a postal worker for 22 years.

On April 14, 1966 in Heilbronn, Germany he married Sieglinde Nickel, who survives. Together they shared 54 years of marriage.

Joseph was a member of the former St. John the Baptist Church, VFW, American Legion, AARP, and the Association of the U. S. Army.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Sieglinde Amrich; three sons, Norman Amrich, Joseph Amrich and Andrew Amrich; two daughters, Regina Uth and husband, Richard and Joann Amrich; and three granddaughters, Madison, Avery and Sydney. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Theresa Yuknavage.
