Kulpmont – Joseph "Harry" Dunick, 83, of 1038 Pine St., passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Marion Heights on September 16, 1941, he was the son of the late Metro and Anna (Hardish) Dunick.

Joe was a 1961 graduate of Kulpmont High School. He served in the US Army in the 7th Cavalry in Korea from 1962 – 1965. He worked at Allen Clark Inc., as a butcher for 27 years and Weis Markets until his retirement.

Joe was a member of the Patronage of the Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church, Marion Heights.

Joe was known to everyone as "Harry". He was a hard worker and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at the cabin. He was an avid fan of Penn State, the Eagles, and most of all the Phillies. His favorite meal was a bologna sandwich.

Survivors include a sister, Joanne Whalen of Minersville; a sister-in-law, Rosemarie Dunick of Coal Run; two nephews, Andrew Zubal of Pittsburgh and Michael Zubal of Kulpmont; along with several loved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by four brothers, Andrew, Paul, Walter, and Michael Dunick; and four sisters, Mary Guthrie, Helen Ondish, Rose Zubal, and Barbara Ketterer.

Divine Liturgy will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 10 a.m. with Father Mark Fesniak officiating in the Patronage of the Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church, Marion Heights. Burial will follow in the Patronage of the Mother of God Cemetery, Marion Heights.
