Kulpmont - Joseph Andrew Lubeskie, 77, of 191 Vermont Drive passed away while on a golf trip doing what he loved surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, October 27, 2022 in South Carolina.

Born in Mount Carmel on June 20, 1945, he was the son of the late John and Sophia (Butensky) Lubeskie. He graduated in 1963 from Mount Carmel Catholic High School and earned a Bachelor's degree in education from Bloomsburg University in 1967.

On May 27, 1967, in Mount Carmel, he married Lucille Olshefski, who survives. Joseph was a teacher for 40 years at Our Lady of Lourdes High School where he was known as Mr. Lubo or Coach by many, having coached football, baseball, wrestling, and golf. He also officiated for these sports for many years being a member of the PIAA Association. He was a member of Holy Angels Church, the Holy Name Society, and a 4th Degree Life Member of the Knights of Columbus. Joseph was also a member of the West End Fire Company in Springfield, Kulpmont Sportsman Club, Bernie Romanoski Hall of Fame, Ed Romance Hall of Fame, and the Rum Dum Society.

In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by three sons, Gary of VA, Gregory and wife, Carole (Weissinger) of Kulpmont, and Geoffrey and wife, Mary-Elizabeth (Conrad) of Manheim. He also considered their exchange student as his fourth son, Flavio Andrade and wife, Valeska and their two sons, Bernardo and Fred of Brazil; four grandsons, Maxwell, Cole, Syrus, and Gavin Lubeskie; two granddaughters, Carly Lubeskie and Chloe Smith; two brothers, John Lubeskie and wife, Michaeline of FL and James Lubeskie and wife, Lucille of Whitehaven; a sister-in-law, Jackie Moncavage of Kulpmont; a cousin, Bernie Pavloski and wife, Janet; best friends, Michael Petroskie and wife, Margaret and Jim Bach; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by a brother, Peter Lubeskie and wife, Betty; a sister, Dolores Morris; and a brother-in-law, Charles Moncavage.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 12 p.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer as celebrant at the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation for the public will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass in the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont.
