Mount Carmel – Joseph John Mitch, 48, of 208 W. Ave., passed away on July 19, 2023, at his residence after an 11-year illness.

He was born in Bucks County on August 19, 1974, the son of the late Joanne Mitch. Joseph was a graduate of Wilson High School in West Lawn, PA. Joseph resided in the Mount Carmel area for the past year and lived in Reading previously.

On January 27, 2007, in Pottstown he married the former Samantha J. Mathias, who survives.

Joseph was a member of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed fishing, listening to music, and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Samantha Mitch; and two step-children, Zoey N. Ellingwood-Mathias and Zachary J. Ellingwood-Mathias. Joseph was preceded in death by his mother; two sisters; and three brothers.

Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023, in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., Mt. Carmel, C. J. Lucas IV, Supervisor. Burial will be held in Bucks County at a later date at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
