Kulpmont – Joseph D. "JoJo" Scicchitano, 84, of 952 Chestnut Street passed away on March 20, 2023 at his residence with family by his side.

He was born in Kulpmont on August 18, 1938, the son of the late Dominic and Teresa (Varano) Scicchitano.

Joseph was a 1957 graduate of Kulpmont High School and life-long resident of Kulpmont. He was employed as a borough supervisor for Kulpmont until his retirement.

On February 27, 1961, in St. Andrew's Church, Baltimore, MD he married the former Ann R. Canonico, who preceded him in death on August 10, 2006.

Joseph was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. He loved playing cards and watching sports. Joseph was very involved in sports throughout the years. He coached little league baseball and basketball and was a former president of the boosters.

Joseph is survived by three sons, Anthony Scicchitano of Kulpmont, Philip Scicchitano and wife, Millie of Kulpmont, and Joseph Scicchitano and wife, Mari of Berwick; a daughter, Annette Pennypacker and husband, Henry of Kulpmont; grandchildren, Joseph Scicchitano and wife, Danielle of Harleysville, Renee Scicchitano of Kulpmont, Phillip Scicchitano and wife, Laurie of Kulpmont, Joshua Scicchitano and fiancé, Ashley D'Andrea of Harrisburg, Megan Scicchitano and significant other, Bryan McFadden of Kulpmont, Anthony Pennypacker of Kulpmont, Angelique Pennypacker of Kulpmont, Dominic Scicchitano of Berwick, and Nadia Scicchitano of Berwick; great-grandchildren, Brighton Scicchitano of Kulpmont, Franco Scicchitano, Luca Scicchitano, and Ruby Scicchitano all of Harleysville; a sister, Catherine Maciejewski and husband, Jack of Kulpmont; companion, Janice Witrowski of Kulpmont; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents and wife, Joseph was preceded in death by four brothers, Anthony, Bruno, Dominic, and James; and two sisters, Marion Pickering and Antoinette Bach.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 12 p.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer as celebrant in the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. Burial will be held at later date at the convenience of the family. Viewing will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont.
