Atlas - On May 2nd, our dear mom, "Babe", went to be with our dad, "Ronnie", in Heaven. Josephine "Babe" Troutman, 86, went peacefully to be with her Lord.

She was born on July 9, 1938, in Atlas, the daughter of Peter and Concetta (DiRienzo) Escanez.

Josephine attended Mount Carmel Township School in Locust Gap and graduated from Mount Carmel High School with the Class of 1956.

On October 24, 1956, she married Ronald V. Troutman, who passed away on June 21, 2013. They shared 56 years of marriage and raised three children.

Josephine was a member of the Catholic faith and a lifelong member of the Woodmen of the World. She enjoyed camping, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Josephine is survived by her daughter, Debra Troutman of Atlas; two sons, Jim Troutman and wife, Toni of Atlas and Rod Troutman and wife, Dawn of Mowry; four grandchildren, Quentin, Cassie, Dylan, and Megan; a great-granddaughter, Sadie; a brother, John Cesari Sr. and wife, Teresa of Hamburg, NY; a sister, Marie Yancoskie and husband, Mike of Shelton, CT; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Mervine and husband, Roger of Pitman; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Josephine was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 11 a.m. with Lay Pastor Susan Darrah as celebrant and Pastor Mike Yancoskie as concelebrant in the C J Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mt. Carmel, C J Lucas IV, Supervisor. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Viewing will be held on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service in the funeral home.
