Ashland - Judith Lucas, 74, of 10 Main Street, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Danville on July 4, 1943 she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Martha (Andrescavage) Basalay. She was a 1961 graduate of Kulpmont High School.

Judy was employed by the Mount Carmel School District as a cafeteria worker.  She was a member of the Church of Our Lady, Mount Carmel, Fountain Springs Fire Company and the Polish Club.

She was married August 24, 1979 in Bel Air, MD to Charles Lucas, who survives.

In addition to her husband, Charles she is survived by a daughter Judy McCollum and her husband Bart of Ashland; a son, Joseph Politza of Kulpmont; four grandchildren, David and Brandon Brown and Michael and Sean McCollum; two great grandchildren, Keegan and Kaden Brown; a brother Bernard Basalay and his wife Susan of Delta; several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as a dear friend of 54 years, Joanie Schweinhart. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Donald R. Hockenberry.

Judith Lucas, 74, of 10 Main Street, Ashland - Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 11:00 am in Church of Our Lady, 47 South Market Street, Mount Carmel with Father Francis Karwacki, officiating.  Burial will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Marion Heights.  There will not be a viewing.  C.J.
