Mount Carmel – Laura G. (Swalinski) Hynoski, 96, of 26 S. Hickory St., passed away April 7, 2022 at her residence.

She was born at home in Mount Carmel on May 21, 1925, the daughter of Frank and Josephine (Szyszkowski) Swalinski.

Laura was a 1944 graduate of Mount Carmel High School. She lived and worked in New York City for 11 years. She was employed as a file clerk for Saks Fifth Avenue and later worked for Kanmak Mills.

On May 6, 1957, she married Anthony Hynoski in New York City, who preceded her in death on February 3, 2004.

Laura was a former member of St. Joseph's Church, now known as Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. She was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the Senior Citizen Action Society. Laura enjoyed her kitchen being full of family, friends, and laughter. All her "thank yous" to family and friends were genuine and came from her heart. She liked to crochet as a pastime.

Laura is survived by her son, Frank Hynoski and wife, Denise of Marion Heights; brother-in-law, Kenneth Walling of Mount Carmel; as well as many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Sue Bell who was a true friend and caregiver to Laura and also a special thanks to the staff of Family Home Medical caregivers. In addition to her parents and husband, Laura was preceded in death by three sisters, Genevieve Swalinski, Helen Barth, and Ann Walling.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Laura G. (Swalinski) Hynoski, 96, of 26 S. Hickory St., Mt. Carmel – Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Father Francis Karwacki officiating in the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 47 South Market St., Mt. Carmel. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. with transferal prayers at 10 a.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine Street, Mt. Carmel, C. J. Lucas IV, Supervisor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mount Carmel Public Library, 30 S. Oak St., Mt.
