Leo Finlan, 80, of Marion Heights, passed away on September 17, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born in Girardville on September 4, 1944, the son of the late Thomas and Cecelia (Joyce) Finlan.

Leo graduated from Cardinal Brennan High School in the class of 1964. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years. Following his military service, Leo furthered his education at McCann School of Business. He spent 35 years working in the Department of Revenue before retiring in 1999.

On June 28, 1980, he married Rosalie Alexander at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. They enjoyed 44 years of marriage together. For their 44th wedding anniversary, Leo and his wife traveled to Alaska.

Leo was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels. He was a lifetime member of the West End Fire Company in Kulpmont, served as a lifetime member and treasurer of the Marion Heights Fire Company, and was also a member of the Kulpmont Sportsman Club. Leo enjoyed RV trips to Notre Dame and loved traveling to the islands.

Leo is survived by his wife, Rosalie of Marion Heights; two sons, Jason of Marion Heights and Brandon of Mount Wolf; a sister, Mary of Barnesville; a brother, Tom and his wife, Dolores of NJ; and a sister-in-law, Marie of Girardville. In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Ed; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Catherine and Felix.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at noon with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be held in the Church on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
