Kulpmont - Leonard E. Persavage, 89, formerly of 305 Warsaw Street, Marion Heights died Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Serenity Gardens.

Born in Ranshaw on April 19, 1929 he was the son of the late Julian and Catherine Persavage. He was a 1947 graduate of Coal Township High School.

He was employed as a welder for Penn Railroad which later became known as Penn Central which later became known as Con-Rail for 42 years. He retired in 1989, and after retirement he worked in the flower department and drove the "Old Smokey" train at Knoebel's Amusement Park for over twenty years.

On May 29, 1958 in Shamokin he married the late Mary E. Wargo, who preceded him in death on January 5, 2018.

Leonard was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont.

He served with the US Army during the Korean War.

His hobbies included hunting and fishing, he was a founding member of the Little Zoo Hunting Camp in Union County.

Survivors include two daughters, Theresa Keck and her husband Raymond of Perkasie and Mary Ellen Baskin and her husband Paul of Bloomsburg; a cherished nephew, Frank Peters and his wife Teresa of Tennessee; two grandsons, Gregory Keck and his wife Leah of Perkasie and Eric Keck and his wife Carly of Schnecksville; three granddaughters, Stacy Bandza and her husband Tim of Bloomsburg; Kelly Keck and Christopher Soto of Conshohocken and Katie Klinger and her husband Allen of Kulpmont; four great grandsons, Logan Keck of Schnecksville, Evan Keck of Perkasie, Liam Klinger of Kulpmont and Benjamin Keck of Perkasie; two great nephews, Nathan Peters and his wife Rachael of Georgia and Jeremy Peters and his wife Laurie and their son, Rowan of Georgia.  Leonard was awaiting the arrival of two great granddaughters this summer, Emmelene Keck and Adelynn Klinger.

Leonard E. Persavage, 89, formerly of 305 Warsaw Street, Marion Heights - Funeral Mass will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott Street, Kulpmont with Father Andrew Stahmer, and Father Michael M. Bryant officiating.  Burial will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Marion heights.  Viewing will be held Monday morning form 9:30 - 10:45 with transferal prayers at 9:45 in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 1053 Chestnut Street, Kulpmont, C.J.
