Mount Carmel - Linda (Strike) Rathosky passed away peacefully at the age of 65 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 following a battle with cancer.

Born in Danville on  November 13, 1952, she was the daughter of Edward and Evelyn (Lucas) Strike and a lifelong resident of Mount Carmel.

She graduated from Mount Carmel High School with the Class of 1970 and had a long career as a phlebotomist at Danville State Hospital. She retired several years ago and enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with her husband, Jim.

On August 11, 2009 in Orlando, Florida she married James Rathosky, who survives.

She was a member of the Church of Our Lady in Mount Carmel.

Linda was a kind soul who cared deeply for her family. She was passionate about cancer research and animal welfare, and loyally supported organizations dedicated to those causes.  Her shih tzu, Mickey, was a constant source of comfort to her, especially throughout her illness.

Linda is survived by her husband, James Rathosky of Mount Carmel; her parents, Edward and Evelyn Strike of Mount Carmel; her daughter and son-in-law, Tamara and Michael Ozlanski of Selinsgrove; her brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Estrella Strike of Fairfax, VA and their daughters, Gabrielle and Katherine; her aunts, Josephin Smar and Regina Spering of Philadelphia and her uncle and aunt, Mike and Mildred Strike of Coal Township. She was preceded in death by her uncle, Richard Lucas.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Linda Rathosky, 65, of Mount Carmel - Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 10:30 am in Church of Our Lady, 47 South Market Street, Mount Carmel with Father Francis Karwacki, officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Mount Carmel Twp.  Viewing will be held Tuesday morning from 9:00 - 10:15 with vigil prayers at 9:30 am in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel, C.J.
