Lorraine H. Horsfield, 88, of 305 – 311 S Chestnut St, Mount Carmel, passed away July 15, 2024 at her residence.

She was born in Atlas on November 18, 1935, the daughter of the late Albert and Helen (Klueznik) Colross. She was a lifelong resident of both Atlas and Mount Carmel.

Lorraine attended St. Peter's Grade School and was a graduate of Mount Carmel Catholic High School, class of 1953.

On September 5, 1959, in the former St. Paul's Church in Atlas, she married Carl A. Horsfield, who preceded her in death on May 31, 2019.

Lorraine was a medical secretary, working at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, the Internist Group in Williamsport, and for Peter A. Justin M.D. of Mount Carmel. She enjoyed shopping and reading in her free time.

She was a member of the former St. Paul's Church in Atlas, and the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Lorraine is survived by a sister-in-law, Carol Ann Colross of Atlas, and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a brother, Albert Colross who passed on March 1, 2014.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 19 at 11 a.m. with Father Francis Karwacki as celebrant in the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 47 S. Market St., Mt Carmel. Burial will follow in the Mount Carmel Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Friday, July 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., with Transferal Prayers at 10 a.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mt Carmel, PA 17851, C. J. Lucas IV Supervisor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 47 S. Market St., Mt Carmel, 17851 and the Mount Carmel Public Library, 30 S Oak St, Mt Carmel, PA 17851.
