Marion Heights – Lorraine L. (Kartovich) Nestico, 95, went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2023. She was a resident of Mount Carmel Senior Living Community and formerly lived in Coal Township and Marion Heights.

She was born in Ranshaw on March 30, 1928, the daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie (Covelski) Kartovich.

Lorraine was a graduate of Coal Township High School, class of 1943. She worked as a teacher's aide in Mount Carmel.

On January 28, 1967, she married Edward R. Nestico, who preceded her in death in 1998.

Lorraine was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont.

Lorraine is survived by a son, Rocco Nestico and wife, Kathleen of Lock Haven; a daughter, Linda Kennedy-Hassel of Wyomissing; three grandchildren, Bradley Kennedy, Ian Kennedy, and Elizabeth McMillan; and five great-grandchildren, Landen, Isaac, Reagen, Maximus, and Eleanor. In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine was preceded in death by a grandchild, Somer Lyn Kennedy; and a sister, Jeanne Shuman.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jeffery Howell officiating in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Viewing will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
