Catawissa – Lorraine (Novakoski) Nozisko, 94, of 432 Rarig Road, passed away January 23, 2023 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born in Mount Carmel on June 24, 1928, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Tomashefski) Novakoski.

Lorraine was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School, class of 1946. She attended three years of nursing school at Ashland State Hospital and a year at Kings County Hospital Center: School of Anesthesia for Nurses in Brooklyn, NY.

On May 30, 1951, she married Edward Nozisko in St. Joseph's Church, Mt. Carmel.

Lorraine was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Slabtown.

Lorraine is survived by two sons, Bruce Nozisko of Hatboro and Mark Nozisko and wife, Bonnie of Catawissa; three daughters, Christine Smith of NV, Marylou Nozisko of CO; and Irene Huizing and husband, Guido of NV; eight grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Stevens.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023, with Father Dennis Delasandro as celebrant in Our Lady of Mercy Church, 304 Slabtown Rd, Catawissa. Burial will follow in Our Mother of Consolation Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp. Viewing will be held in the Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Arrangements are in care of C. J.
