Elysburg – Louise C. (Karwacki) Kovach-Pochakilo, 93, passed away on December 22, 2024, at the Emmanuel Center for Nursing in Danville.

She was born in Mount Carmel on September 4, 1931, to Andrew and Mary (Hvizda) Karwacki.

A 1949 graduate of Mount Carmel High School, Louise spent her early years in Mount Carmel before moving to Bear Gap in 1965.

On September 8, 1956, she married John "Jack" Kovach at St. Joseph's Church in Mount Carmel. Jack passed away on May 9, 1980. Louise later married Joseph Pochakilo on June 10, 2001, in Edwardsville. Joseph passed away on January 22, 2011.

Louise was a member of the Patronage of the Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church in Marion Heights.

She was preceded in death by her parents and both of her husbands. Survivors include cousins and friends of Louise.

Divine Liturgy will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28th, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. with Father Mark Fesniak officiating in the Patronage of the Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church, 145 Melrose Street, Marion Heights, PA 17832. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, from 9 a.m. until the time of the Divine Liturgy in the Church.
