Mount Carmel - Lucy H. Pulaski, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 surrounded by her family and Father Frank Karwacki.

On December 13,1914, 103 years ago a baby girl, to be christened Lucy, was born on the Feast Day of St. Lucy to John and Stephania Kulick in Mount Carmel.

Our mom Lucy attended both St. Joseph's Grade School and Mt. Carmel High where she played basketball as a forward.  She also played trumpet in a drum and bugle corps during her school years.  Her mom taught her to crochet, sew, line coats and to cook Polish foods - Paczki being the family favorite.

While walking home from St. Joseph's Cemetery on the Feast of All Souls, it started to rain Mom asked a tall skinny man if he wanted to share her umbrella...he said yes.  The man, Charles Pulaski became her husband and they were married for over fifty years.

Mom loved to sing, a strong alto voice in St. Joseph's Choir...Her favorite Devotions were 40 Hours, all of Holy Week, 3pm Stations on Friday. She was a daily communicant until her illness.  She 'attended daily Mass' via EWTN until the day of her death.

She loved Mt. Carmel.  Dad had two opportunities as Postmaster to be transferred to San Diego and then New Hampshire.  Her response, 'Great, you go Charlie, I'm staying here.'  He didn't go.

Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; son, Kaz; daughter Joan, her sister Irene Smoczynski, and brothers Frank Kulick of Elkins Park, PA and Peter Kulick of Mt.Carmel. Her survivors include daughters Jean Pulaski and Lucille and her husband Joe Swatski, Mt.Carmel; son Edward and wife Eileen Pulaski of Hazleton, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Also surviving are brothers Joseph Kulick of Arlington, VA and Henry Kulick of Lansdale, PA and daughter-in-law Roseanne Pulaski of Steelton, PA.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Lucy H. Pulaski of Mount Carmel - Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11:00 am in Church of Our Lady, 47 South  Market Street, Mount Carmel with Father Francis Karwacki, serving as the main celebrant, Father Robert Berger will serve as the con-celebrant.  Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Township.  Viewing will be held Saturday  morning from 9:30 until the time of mass in Church of Our Lady, 47 South Market Street, Mount Carmel.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Church of Our Lady, 47 South Market Street, Mount Carmel, PA 17851.  C.J.
