Mount Carmel – Marcia A. (Brosh) Gonder, 83, of 319 N. Maple St., passed away peacefully on December 19, 2022 at her residence.

She was born in Shamokin on February 1, 1939, the daughter of Frank and Della (Krotlinski) Brosh.

Marcia was a 1957 graduate of Mount Carmel High School and life-long resident of Mount Carmel. She was registered nurse who was employed at Mountain View Manor and Danville State Hospital as a nursing supervisor.

On December 10, 1960 in Our Mother of Consolation Church she married Kenneth "Charlie" Gonder, who preceded her in death on January 13, 2012.

Marcia was a member of Divine Redeemer Church. She was an avid reader, enjoyed going out to dinner, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Marica is survived by two daughters, Deborah Barilla and husband, Charles of Strong and Karen Steck and husband, Mark of Mount Carmel; four grandsons, Adam Barilla and wife, Joy of Montgomery, Scott Barilla of Kulpmont, Kirby Steck of Lock Haven and girlfriend, Lindsay of New Berlin, and Chris Steck of Lexington, VA; three great-grandsons, Julian Barilla, Isaac Barilla, and Ethan Barilla; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Marcia was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Brosh and sister-in-law, Sharon.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Father Bernard Wamayose, A J as celebrant in Divine Redeemer Church, Mt. Carmel. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 8:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. with Transferal Prayers at 10 a.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mt. Carmel, C. J. Lucas IV, supervisor. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Mount Carmel Public Library, 30 S. Oak St., Mt. Carmel, PA 17851.
