Margaret M. (Albin) Malin, 98, formerly of Strong and Mount Carmel, passed away on August 5, 2024, at her residence.

She was born in Green Ridge on October 28, 1925, the daughter of the late Peter and Martha (Drucis) Albin.

Margaret attended Strong Grade School and was a 1944 graduate of Mount Carmel Township High School. On April 8, 1948, in Mount Carmel, she married Raymond Malin, who preceded her in death in 1959.

She worked at several garment factories in the area, including Kanmak, Mt. Carmel Garment, Miss Fashion, and Arrow. After retiring from the garment factories, she devoted her life to helping raise her three great nieces. Margaret was an excellent cook. She was always ready to whip up her family's favorite dishes, including Kluski, Pierogies, Potato Cakes, and Pigeons. The neighborhood children always had a welcome seat at her table.  Friends and family enjoyed participating in her annual Easter egg hunt.

Margaret lived in Strong until 2006, when she moved to Mount Carmel. Eventually, when she needed more care, she moved to a family care home in Shamokin. There, she gained another family, watching game shows, sharing dinner, and playing Bingo.  She was a member of the former Our Mother of Consolation Church, now Divine Redeemer Church. She was a devout Catholic who attended mass every Sunday.

Margaret is survived by her sister, Florence Trefsger, as well as nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, Raymond Albin, Agnes Mish, Dorothy Shemonski, and Leonard Albin.

Margaret was kind, caring, funny, and always upbeat no matter what life threw at her. She always put others' needs above her own. There is not a person who met Margaret that did not love her. She was truly one of a kind.  Margaret will be greatly missed by all the children, grandchildren, and great-grand children that she had adopted as her own throughout the years.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 16th, from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc. 27 North Vine Street, Mt Carmel, C. J. Lucas IV, Supervisor. Funeral Service will start at 11 a.m. with Father Bernard Wamayose, A.J. officiating at the Funeral Home. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
