Kulpmont – Margaret Spadel, 94, of 415 Chestnut St. passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021, at her residence.

Born on May 25, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Yakubick.

Margaret attended Washington School and Mount Carmel high School. She worked in the Wilburton Dress Factory for 14 years and retired in 1989 as a Fabric Inspector.

Margaret was a lifelong resident of Mt. Carmel. She truly enjoyed life in her small-town community. Margaret was a faithful member of SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Mount Carmel and remained committed to the church after she was unable to physically attend. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family pets were always by her side and she especially missed her beloved dog Fifi. Crossword puzzles and watching old cowboy movies were her favorite pastimes. She will be dearly missed by her family.

Margaret is survived by a daughter, Rose Ann Cole and partner, Michael J. Habowski of Kulpmont; four grandsons, Charles Cole and wife Coleen, Jacob Cole and fiancé, Denise Haney, Gordon Cole and wife, Heidi, and Michael Habowski; three granddaughters, Sandy Riker, Susan Curry, Nikki Cole and fiancé, Bernie Nolter; nine great grandsons, Jacob Cole, Colton Habowski, Edwin Sanders, James Sanders, Robert Sanders, Mason Curry, Austin Cole, Zane Nolter, Eli Nolter; seven great granddaughters, Brianna Cole, Sophie Cole, Morgan Cole, Michaela Habowski, Jennifer Sanders, Megan Curry, and Mariah Curry; and nine great-great grandchildren as well as many cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Larkin and husband Edward; and a grandson, in-law, Rick Riker.

Margaret Spadel, 94, of 415 Chestnut St., Kulpmont – Divine Liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021 in SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 131 N Beech St, Mt Carmel, PA 17851, with the Very Reverend Archpriest Michael Hutsko officiating. Burial will follow in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are in care of C. J.
