Kulpmont – Marguerite A. "Peggy" (Barletta) Yancheski, 90, of 1052 Scott Street, passed away on March 31, 2024, at home with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Atlas on July 18, 1933, the daughter of Tomaso Barletta, an immigrant from Monopoli Bari, Italy, and Mary C. (Fabrizio) Barletta, an immigrant from Loreto Aprutino.

Peggy was a lifelong resident of Kulpmont and a graduate of Mount Carmel Township High School, class of 1951. She worked as a seamstress in local garment factories.

On September 17, 1955, in St. Peter's Church, Mt. Carmel, she married the late Leo T. Yancheski.

Peggy was a member of St. Casimir's Church, now known as Church of the Holy Angles. She was a member of the St. Pauline Foundation and was present for the canonization of St. Pauline Visintainer in Rome. Peggy was a lifelong member of the West End Fire Co., Kulpmont. She enjoyed traveling and visited Las Vegas, Alaska, Hawaii, and Italy to visit her family. She was very proud of her Italian Heritage. Peggy enjoyed yearly trips to Montreal and the Charlevoix in Quebec, Canada. She loved watching the Eagles and Phillies games.

Peggy was very generous, loving, and devoted to her family. She will be dearly missed, but she passed on her strength to her loved ones. "No fear, no anguish, and no pain. Just releasing the last apprehension, and quietly let go…"

Peggy is survived by three sons, Leo J. Yancheski of Kulpmont, Martin Yancheski of Kulpmont, and Brian Yancheski and his fiancé, Diane of Kulpmont; a grandson, Justin (Valerie) Yancheski of NJ; a great-grandson, Vincent Yancheski of NJ; a sister, Shirley (Nick) Gard of Kulpmont; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her siblings, Lucy Giordano, Michael Barletta, Rose Kuznicki, Carmen Barletta, and Martin Barletta.

Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024, with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St, Kulpmont, PA 17834. Burial will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Marion Heights. Viewing will be held on Saturday, April 13th, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. with transferal prayers at 12:30 p.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, Ashley Paige Doyle, Supervisor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Pauline Foundation, 1150 Chestnut St. Kulpmont, PA 17834.
