Kulpmont – Marie A. (Pegoretti) Shoffler, 81, formerly of 301 N. 6th St., passed away on August 13, 2023, at Sunbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Ashland on January 25, 1942, the daughter of the late Louis and Marie (Long) Pegoretti.

Marie attended school in Mount Carmel. She lived in Mount Carmel for most of her life, and was also a former resident of Saigon. On August 28, 1986, she married the late Norman R. "Babe" Shoffler, who preceded her in death in 2016.

Marie is survived by four children, Loretta Smith, Richard Shoffler, Diane Ortiz, and Karen Seinhart; and five grandchildren, Charles Henderson, Michelle Ortiz, James Ortiz, Clarissa Thomas–Steinhart, and Brendyn Steinhart; a great-grandchild, Alex Henderson; and an aunt, Alma Querry. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her baby brother, Paul.

Graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023, with Pastor Linda Nagy officiating at Kulpmont Protestant Cemetery, Kulpmont. Arrangements are in care of C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont.
