Kulpmont - Mary M. Dormer, 85, of 1032 Scott Street, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

Born in Kulpmont on May 16, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Pete and Mary (Olbrys) Olshefski. She was educated in St. Casimir's Grade School and a graduate of Kulpmont High School.

Mary was employed as a sales clerk at Kessler Jewelry Store and also worked at JK Operating.

On September 26, 1959 in St. Casimir's Church, she married the late Preston Dormer Sr., who preceded her in death on November 6, 1986.

She was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, formerly a member of St. Casimir's Church. She also was a Girl Scout leader.

Survivors include a son, Preston "Butch" Dormer Jr. and his wife Marianne of Kulpmont and a daughter, Margaret Shelbourn and her husband Hugh of California; as well as nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Frances LaSelva, Veronica Cassalino and Rita Shepley and one brother, Frank Moleski who served in the Army and was killed in action

FUNERAL NOTICE

Mary M. Dormer, 85, of 1032 Scott Street, Kulpmont - Relatives, friends and neighbors are invited to attend a funeral mass on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott Street, Kulpmont with Father Andrew Stahmer and Father David Dormer, officiating.  Burial will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Marion Heights.  At the request of the deceased there will not be a viewing.  C.J.
