Mary (Sanderson) Engelbrecht, 92, passed away on July 19, 2026, at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.

She was born in Leeds, England, on November 27, 1933, the daughter of the late Alfred and Agnes (Rohan) Sanderson.

Mary was a graduate of Middleton Girls Academy. She served in the Royal Air Force in England

On September 3, 1960, she married the late Charles Engelbrecht Jr. in Washington, D.C.

Mary is survived by three sons, Vincent Engelbrecht Sr. and wife, Theresa of Kulpmont, John Engelbrecht and wife, Stacy of Shamokin, and Andrew Engelbrecht of Kulpmont; a daughter, Susan Engelbrecht of VA; eight grandchildren, Alyssa Engelbrecht and husband, Zachary Jones, Jodie Engelbrecht, Jenny Davenport, James McCauley, Vincent Engelbrecht Jr., Mark Engelbrecht, Jalen Reiprich, and Haleigh Pellowski; three great grandchildren, Zayne, Ayla, and Charlie Rose; two brothers, Michael and Peter Sanderson; and four sisters, Janet, Eileen, Barbara, and Agnes Sanderson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles E. Engelbrecht Sr. and Viola Engelbrecht; a great-granddaughter, Adelaine Rose Davenport; and two brothers, Brian and John Sanderson.

A religious service will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at noon with Rev. Rose Marquardt officiating in the Zion United Methodist Church, Aristes. A visitation will be held on August 4, 2026, from 11 a.m. – noon in the Zion United Methodist Church, Aristes. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
