Elysburg - Mary B. Schneider, 82, of 3 Tioga Street, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in East Poland on July 23, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Mrs. Kathrine (Madarus) Palembas.

On June 27, 1959, in St. Josephs Church, Mount Carmel, she married the love of her life, Christian Schneider, who survives.  She attended Mount Carmel High School.  Mary was a professional cook and had a catering business. She also worked at the dress company in Mount Carmel.

Mary was a member of Our Lady's Church, Mount Carmel and previously resided in Wapppinger Falls for 35 years and attending St. Mary's Church, Wappinger Falls, then moved back to the area and was a previous member of St. Joseph's Church, Mount Carmel.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Paulette Schneider of New York, NY and Anne St. Mauro and her husband Paul of Skillman, NJ; a grandson, Trevor St. Mauro of Skillman, NJ; two granddaughters, Bridgette St. Mauro and Amelia St. Mauro, both of Skillman, NJ; a brother, William Palembas of Natalie; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jayne Doyle; a son, David Schneider and a mother and father-in-law, Dr. Paul and Hannah Schneider.  Mary will be missed by her many family and friends.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Mary B. Schneider, 82, of 3 Tioga Street, Elysburg - Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, October 12, 2017, at 11:00 am in Queen of Most Holy Rosary Church, 599 Center Street, Elysburg, with Father Steven Frenier, officiating.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beaverdale.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of mass in the parish center of the Queen of Most  Holy Rosary Church, 599 Center Street, Elysburg.  Arrangements are being cared for by C. J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel, C. J.
