Mount Carmel - Mathew "Matty" Thomas Sweda, 27, of 422 North Oak Street, died suddenly Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Bloomsburg on November 10, 1990, he was the son of Paul Sweda of Elysburg and Gale (Kehler) Sweda of Mount Carmel.

He was a graduate of Mount Carmel Area High School.

Matty took extreme pride in his appearance and was always designing his own clothing and cleaning his sneakers. He never left home without looking his best.  Growing up he enjoyed playing baseball, gold, and riding BMX bikes.

In addition to his mother and father he is survived by a brother, Paul "PJ" Sweda of NJ; two sisters, Tiana Lopez and her husband Jonathan of Mount Carmel and Kaylee Sweda of East Stroudsburg; two nephews, Jayce "Nino" Lopez and Colby Sweda; one niece, Kierrah Lopez and his best friend, his dog Layla.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Irvin Walter and Katherine Kehler and his paternal grandparents, Paul and Joan Sweda.
