Ranshaw – Michael P. Bogush, 76, of 209 Webster St., passed away on September 19, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born in Shamokin Hospital on August 20, 1947, the son of the late Michael and Mary (McCoy) Bogush.

Michael was a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School, class of 1966. He grew up in the Kulpmont area, lived in Bloomsburg, and moved to Ranshaw in February 2023. Michael proudly served in the Air Force from 1967 – 1988 and earned many medals and awards for his service.

On April 15, 2005, he married the former Betty J. Sock, who preceded him in death on February 7, 2023.

Michael was a member of the Catholic Faith. He enjoyed model railroading and was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan.

Michael is survived by two daughters, Dori Ann Cryts and husband, Jason of Ranshaw and Teresa Bogush of Sunbury; three sons, Travis Bogush of Sunbury, Phil Dmitroff and wife, Georgia of Tucson, AZ, and Michael P. Bogush Jr. of Sunbury; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Francis Bogush and wife, Tamara of Philadelphia; a sister, Mary Sue Mirarck and husband, Joseph of Kulpmont; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents and wife, Michael was preceded in death by a son, Alexander Bogush.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont. Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Sunbury. Visitation will be held in the Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
