Mount Carmel - Mildred (Milly) M. LaCrosse, peacefully passed away in her sleep at the age of 96 on September 11, 2021, at the Mount Carmel Nursing Home. Prior to that she lived with her daughter in Mount Carmel and also was a resident of Kulpmont for over 60 years.

Milly was the daughter of the late Andrew (Dick) Ballent and Christine (Spieles) Ballent, Mount Carmel. She was a 1942 graduate of Mount Carmel High School. After graduation she worked in local garment factories in the Mount Carmel/Kulpmont area. Milly was the co-owner of LaCrosse Sewing Center in Mount Carmel and Kulpmont until retiring in 1975. After retiring she opened her own business under the name of LaCrosse Income Tax Service in Kulpmont.

She was married to the late Frank J. LaCrosse on February 16, 1946 in the Church of Our Lady, Mount Carmel, by the Rev. Vincent Topper.

Milly was a member of SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and the former St. Mary's Church in Kulpmont. She was involved in the Kulpmont Lions Ladies Auxiliary, holding the office of president after several years. One of her favorite things was to help make perogies at the SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The survivors include her daughter, Louise and husband, Edward T. Cuff Jr. of Mount Carmel; son, Leonard (Len) LaCrosse and his fiancé, Wendy Sirota of Huntersville, NC; daughter in-law, Donna LaCrosse of Huntsville, AL; sister in-law, Esther Ballent; brother-in-law, Marty Barrows; grandchildren, Lori and Dave Reed of Den Mar Gardens, Edward T. Cuff III of Mount Carmel, Richelle and Andrew Shertzer of Fayetteville, TN, Bryce and Nathan LaCrosse of Huntersville, NC; great grandchildren, Michael Cuff of Mount Carmel, Austin and Sydney Reed of Den Mar Gardens, Autumn and Natalie Shertzer of Fayetteville, TN; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank LaCrosse; son, Lawrence (Larry) LaCrosse; three brothers, Robert (Bobby) Ballent, Leonard (Lenny) Ballent and wife, Velma, and John (Oscar) Ballent; and two sisters, Tina Barrows, and Mary Lou Edmondson and husband, Fred.

Mildred (Milly) M. LaCrosse of Mount Carmel – Divine Liturgy will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 131 N Beech St, Mt Carmel, PA 17851 with Very Reverend Archpriest Michael Hutsko officiating. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Viewing will be held in the Church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Divine Liturgy.
