Kulpmont – Mildred Marie Slaby, 93, of 1229 Poplar St., passed away May 14, 2023 at her residence.

She was born in Kulpmont on March 5, 1930, the daughter of the late John and Sabina (Jennis) Zydanowich.

Mildred was a lifelong resident of Kulpmont. She worked at the Danville Silk Mill on Route 11. On October 23, 1948, in Kulpmont she married the late Joseph J. Slaby Sr., who preceded her in death on May 31, 2001.

Mildred was a member of Church of the Holy Angels.

Mildred is survived by a daughter, Caroline Stepp and husband, Gary; son, Joseph J. Slaby Jr. and wife, Eileen; a brother, Robert Zydanowich; four grandchildren, Heather Stepp, Gary Lee Stepp, Michael Slaby, and David Slaby; a great-grandson, Alexander Slaby; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family in the Church of the Holy Angels.
