Atlas - Nancy (Anastasia L.) Kuznicki, 94, (one week shy of her 95th birthday) passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 in the home she built with her late husband.

Born in Mount Carmel on August 21, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Veronica (Kozlowski) Savitski. She graduated in 1941 from Mount Carmel High School, after which she lived and worked in New York City for a time.

On January 18, 1947 in Our Mother of Consolation Church, she married the late Stanley J. Kuznicki, who preceded her in death on October 28, 2011. As newlyweds they lived in Chicago and the mid-west, then returned to the Mount Carmel area where they built a home, raised a family, and lived until their passing.

Nancy was a member of the former Our Mother of Consolation Church, and most recently belonged to the Divine Redeemer Church of Mount Carmel.

She leaves behind two daughters, Cheryl Manzo and her husband, Cosimo of Levittown; Susan Haney of Millheim; two sons, Martin Kuznicki & his wife Bonnie of Atlas; Michael Kuznicki & his wife Patti of Bloomsburg; six grandchildren, Jonathan & Adrienne Manzo, Carston & Greta Haney, Julie Kuznicki and Benjamin Kuznicki; four great grandchildren, Brynn, Everett & Wesley Manzo, and Aldo Haney Adamski. Nancy is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Regina and Veronica Savitski and five brothers, Edward, Anthony, Joseph, Charles and Vincent Savitski.

Nancy was a daughter of immigrants and maintained that immigrant can-do spirit of hard work for as long as she was able.  She was an exceptional seamstress, making most of her own (and her children's) clothing for many years, as well as all the draperies, etc. for their home.  She was also very skilled in the kitchen arts.  The pantry always overflowed with garden produce, the freezers with wild game, fish, and mushrooms, and the shelves were filled with mason jars of tomatoes, pickles, jellies, and jams.  She could bake the best pies!

She enjoyed travel, too, with yearly family vacations here and there, a trip to Hawaii and another to see relatives in Poland.  When they were in their 50's, Nancy and Stan even took up X-country skiing and especially enjoyed treks across frozen Lake Chillisquaque.

She will be missed by us all.

Nancy l. Kuznicki, 94, of Atlas -Relatives, friends and neighbors are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 2:00 pm in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 West Avenue, Mount Carmel with Reverend Martin O. Moran III, officiating.  Burial will be in Our Mother of Consolation Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp. There will not be a public viewing.
