Mount Carmel - Norbert Wydila, 89, formerly of 303 North Oak Street, who was currently residing at Serenity Gardens, Kulpmont, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

Born in Kulpmont on January 27, 1929, he was the son of the late Martin and Bertha (Reppie) Wydila. He was a graduate of Kulpmont High School and employed as a sheet metal worker.

On January 26, 1952 in the former Our Mother of Consolation Church, Mount Carmel he married the late Irene V. Wisniewski, who preceded him in death on February 10, 2014.

Norbert was a member of Divine Redeemer Church.  He served his country in both the US Army and US Navy.

Survivors include two sons, Francis "Fritz" Wydila and his wife Suzanne of Mount Joy, PA and David Wyatt and his wife Brooke of Atlanta, GA; one daughter, Dianne Wrobel and her husband Robert of Finksburg, MD; four granddaughters, Kari Ann Lorditch and her husband, Kyle of Hershey; Paige Wyatt of GA; Claire Wyatt of GA and Casey Wrobel of MD; two great grandsons, Evan and Owen Lorditch; three sisters, Dorothy White of NJ; Cornelia Terry of NC and Martha Sweeney and her husband, Jim of Philadelphia; a sister-in-law, Kay Saukaitis as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Helen (Hynoski) Wisniewski; two brothers, John Wydila who was killed on the USS Battleship Missouri during the attack of Pearl Harbor and Edward Wydila and his wife Dorothy; two sisters, Cecilia Justin and her husband Richard and Leona Zuby and her husband Bill; an infant sibling; a sister-in-law, Veronica Miriello and her husband, Tony and a brother-in-law, Francis Wisniewski.

Norbert Wydila, 89, formerly of 303 North Oak Street, Mount Carmel - Funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11:00 am in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 West Avenue, Mount Carmel with Father Ryan Fischer, officiating.  Burial will be in Our Mother of Consolation Cemetery, Mount Carmel Twp.  Viewing will be held Friday morning from 9:00 - 10:45 Transferal Prayers at 10:00 in the C.J.
