Ranshaw – Paul J. Gaughan, 94, passed away on December 8, 2021 at Serenity Gardens, Kulpmont.

He was born in Brady at home on May 22, 1927, the son of Joseph and Edna (Sherman) Gaughan.

At age 17, Paul joined the Navy and served on the USS Honolulu in the North Atlantic during World War II. He was a graduate of Coal Township High School.

In 1950 he married, Dorothy Korzeniecki, who preceded him in death in 2016.

Paul retired from Bethlehem Steel after 30 years and then worked for 12 years for the Commonwealth of PA.

He was a God-fearing man who was an active member of the United Methodist Church. Paul was the oldest member of the Brady Fire House. He and his wife enjoyed listening and dancing to big band music, vacationing at the shore, dining out, and visiting antique shows. He enjoyed the beauty of nature and of people.

Paul was pre-deceased by his only child, Pamela; a brother, James Gaughan; and five sisters, Betty Gaughan, Elaine Miller, Evelyn Dasch, Leona Reismiller, and Diane Hunter. He was the last member of his immediate family. Paul is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Paul was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Paul J. Gaughan, 94, of Ranshaw – Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Beverly Petrovich officiating in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine Street, Mount Carmel, PA 17851. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Coal Township. Viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
