Mount Carmel - By the death of Priscilla Ann Avellino on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, the world lost an amazing gentle soul, a devoted wife, a caring mother and a loving grandmother. She will be remembered for her unconditional love for family and friends, her kind heart and for always speaking her mind.

Born in Bloomsburg on August 23, 1947, she was a lifelong resident of Strong.

Priscilla was a 1965 graduate of Mount Carmel High School. She was employed as a secretary for the Department of Transportation and then was an accomplished seamstress, working at various local factories in the garment industry until her early retirement. Priscilla, was a homemaker and an amazing cook who always made sure there was plenty of food on the table. She invited her family and friends often, to enjoy her home cooked meals and most loved preparing and sharing holiday dinners. Priscilla was an avid reader who enjoyed romance novels, swimming with the kids and being at the casino, in addition to caring for her pet cats. She had a fondness for neighborhood strays who will miss her as well.

Priscilla was united in Holy Matrimony on September 30, 1967 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Kulpmont to Dennis Paul Avellino Sr. who survives.

She is also survived by her step-mother, Alberta Dancho of Locust Gap and her devoted children, her son, Dennis Avellino Jr. of Strong and her daughter, Lisa Avellino-Witters of Dillsburg. She treasured and embraced every moment with grandchildren, Danelle Avellino, Caitlyn Glanzmann, Matthew Avellino, Alyssa Witters and Brianna Witters, great-grandchildren Audrey Houlihan, Carson and Lacey Glanzmann and numerous nieces and nephews who also survive. Her parents George and Rose Marie (Pretko) Dancho and a great-grand daughter Ava Grace Glanzmann were waiting in heaven for her when she arrived.

Priscilla Ann Avellino of Mount Carmel - Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Father Ryan Fischer officiating in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc, 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, PA, Malcom C. Farrow IV, Supervisor. Graveside service will follow in Our Mother of Consolation Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp. Viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Service with Prayers and Scripture beginning at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to C.J.
