Kulpmont - Richard A. Daya, 63, of 909 Pine Street, died Monday, April 23, 2018 at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.

Born in Shamokin on August 27, 1954 he was the son of the late John J. and Sylvia V. (Sgro) Daya.

He was employed as a laborer for Explo-Tech, the maintenance department for Kulpmont Borough and was a self-employed gardener for many residents in the Kulpmont and surrounding area.

He was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School and a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, formerly a member of St. Casimir's Church.

Survivors include a sister, Mary Louise Whalen and her husband Donald of Kulpmont; two brothers, Father John Daya of Philadelphia and Eugene Daya of Shamokin; two nephews, Donald Whalen Jr and his wife Hallie of Coal Run and Joshua Daya of Shamokin; two nieces, Lisa Vincenzes and her husband Jody of Atlas and Gina Daya of Tharptown; two great nephews, Donald Whalen and Michael Vincenzes and two great nieces, Madison Daya and Jessica Whalen as well as thirteen cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Richard A. Daya, 63 of 909 Pine Street, Kulpmont - Funeral services and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.  C.J.
