Mount Carmel - Richard Polomski, 59, formerly of 217 Park Street, who was currently at Mountain View a Nursing & Rehab Center for the past three years, died Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Newark, New Jersey on August 26, 1958, he was the son of the late Edward and Helen (Rumin) Polomski.

He was a fireman with the Anthracite Fire Company and was employed at Arcos Industries as well as various labor unions.

On August 20, 2000 in Mount Carmel he married the former Darlene Halcovich, who survives.

Richard was a 1977 graduate of Mount Carmel High School and was a member of the former St. Joseph's Church, Mount Carmel.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors with his dogs, Nick and Jasmine as well as spending time at "Lindy's" cabin.

In addition to his wife, Darlene of Selinsgrove he is survived by two stepdaughters, Megan Halcovich of Shamokin and Tasha Fuchs and her husband Joe of California; one stepson, Eric Halcovich of Mount Carmel; three step grandsons, Eric Halcovich, J.J. Zarick and Asher Fuchs; one brother, Edward Polomski of Mount Carmel; one sister, Carol Ann Shook of Mount Carmel; two nieces, Christine (Shook) Zarko and her husband Paul of Wilburton #1 and Carolyn (Shook) Bolick and her husband Bob of Sunbury; great nieces, Tianna Kobilis and Savannah Kobilis; one great nephew, Trent Shook and his great friend, John "Lindy" Lindenmuth, of Mansfield who was always there for him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Blanche Polomski.
