Mount Carmel – Richard Hine Sr., 57, of 250 W. Saylor St., passed away on February 7, 2023 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born in Shamokin on July 1, 1965, the son of the late William Lewis and Shirley (Ernest) Hine.

Richard worked in the food service industry. He loved fishing, hunting, and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

Richard is survived by a son, Richard Hine Jr. and wife, Jessica; daughter, Brandi Hine; step-daughter, Angela Peters; step-son, Drew Thompson; and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a brother, William Hine Jr.; and a sister, Betty Lou Hine.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 with a visitation from 5 p.m. -7 p.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., Mt. Carmel, C. J. Lucas IV, Supervisor. Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to help defray funeral expenses may be made to C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc. 27 N.
