Elysburg - Rita T. Laukaitis, 84, 198 Hemlock Lane passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 in her residence surrounded by her family.

Born in Atlas on February 3, 1933, she was the daughter of Pasquale and Mary (Ciocco) Greco. She was a 1950 graduate of Mount Carmel Catholic High School and attended Susquehanna University and the University of Pennsylvania.

On September 5, 1953 in St. Paul's Chapel in Atlas she married John Laukaitis Jr., who survives.  She was a loving wife and mother.

She was a member of the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church and Mother Pauline Society.

In addition to her husband, John Laukaitis Jr., she is survived by a son, Captain Stephen J. Laukaitis, USN retired and his wife Paula of Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Vita DeBellis of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Laura Anne Laukaitis, Grace Laukaitis, Kristen Laukaitis and Adjani Frances DeBellis; one brother, Robert J. Greco of Kulpmont; a sister, Connie Wenrich of Atlas; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Greco of Mount Carmel and Linda Laukaitis of Lancaster as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, John Laukaitis III; four brothers, Saverio Greco and his wife Dorothy, Louis Greco and his wife Rita, Charles Greco, Joseph Greco and his wife Eleanor; three sisters, Anna Heromin and her husband Alexander, Lucy Foris and her husband John and Barbara Greco; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Stephanie Laukaitis; two brothers-in-law, Ronald Laukaitis, and Robert Laukaitis and his wife Helen and one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Grammer.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Rita T. Laukaitis, 84, of 198 Hemlock Lane, Elysburg - Relatives, friends and neighbors are invited to attend a funeral mass on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 11:00 am in Queen of Most Holy Rosary Church, 599 West Center Street, Elysburg with Reverend Alfred Sceski serving as main celebrant and Reverend Joseph Scanlin serving as con-celebrant.  There will be no viewing or visitation prior to the mass.  Burial will be held at a later date in St. Peter's Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Mother Pauline's Society, PO Box 122, Kulpmont, PA 17834.  C.J.
