Robert "Smoky" Daniels, 79, of Kulpmont passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Born in Kulpmont on October 20, 1939, he was the son of the late Peter and Helen (Wojtkielewicz) Daniels (Danielczyk).

He was educated in Saint Casimir's School and a 1958 graduate of Kulpmont High School where he played football and basketball.He attended R.E.T.S. Electronics school in Philadelphia. He also attended United States Army Signal School, Augusta, Georgia. He was discharged honorably from the United States Army Reserve.

On May 23, 2003, he married the former Carmella (Foris) Delvecchio in Holy Angels Church.

Prior to his retirement, he wore many hats. He was employed by General Electric Missile and Space at Valley Forge, TRW Danville, 3M National, Park Outdoor Advertising, Northumberland County Commissioners, and H&R Block businessman. He was the owner of the Echo Inn, Ply Gems Paneling and co-owner of the Centennial Coal Company.

Robert was a member of Holy Angels Church, and the former Saint Casimir's Church. He served as secretary of the Holy Name Society and church usher, he was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus #4281. Robert was past Commander of the American Legion Post #231 for 5 years and was part of the Military Honor Guard for 30 years.

He enjoyed sports, hunting and various outdoor activities at hunting camps and he was a Volunteer Fireman/Chauffer with Kulpmont Fire Department. Robert was a simple, sensitive, caring man who loved God, his family and his country.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lisa Autry and her husband Paul of Kulpmont, and Sandra Stello and her husband, Guy of Virginia Beach, VA. He has five grandchildren, Rachel Adams, Jason Adams and his wife Danielle, Aaron Stello, Conner Stello, and Cole Stello. A sister, Mary Ann Kreisher and her husband Joseph of Wilmington, DE; a sister-in-law, Helen Daniels of Kulpmont; and an aunt, Dolores Wojtkielewicz of Kulpmont, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Peter.

Robert Daniels, 79, of Kulpmont - Funeral mass will be held Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott Street, Kulpmont, Father Stahmer, Officiating. Burial will be held in Saint Casimir's Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 10:00 am - 12:45 pm with Transferal Prayers at 12:00 pm in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, 1053 Chestnut Street, Kulpmont, C.J.
