KULPMONT – Robert "Bob/Bobby" Charles Kaminsky, 89, of 851 Spruce St., passed away Tuesday, November 9th at Serenity Gardens.

He was born at home in Kulpmont on February 28, 1932, the youngest and last surviving child of the late Anthony and Emma (Puskoskie) Kaminsky. He was a lifelong resident of Kulpmont. On July 13, 1957, in Atlas, he married the late Mary Rossi. Bob and Mary celebrated 63 years of marriage before her passing on September 25, 2020.

Bob was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, formerly Assumption B.V.M. where he was a member the Holy Name Society. He directed the men's choir from 1983 to around 1995 and was then made "honorary director".  He was "The Potato Peeler" for the thousands of potato pancakes sold each year at the Holy Angels Parish Picnic.

Bob graduated in 1950 from Kulpmont High School. After working briefly at the Kan Mak Mill in Kulpmont, he joined the United States Army and served as a sergeant from 1953-1955 in Korea. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. After discharge he worked for Tobacco and Firearms in Harrisburg, the F&S Brewery in Shamokin, and the Department of Welfare until his retirement in 1987.

Bob was very active in the community of Kulpmont. He was a member of the Kulpmont American Legion Post 231, the East End Fire Company, the West End Fire Company, the Marion Heights Fire Company, the Jan Sobieski Club, the Kulpmont Sportsman's Club, the Kulpmont Lion's Club, the Knights of Columbus #4281 where he was a 4th degree knight, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8354 (past commander), and the former Lithuanian Club. Bob helped with the Red Cross, was a Notary, played in Our Boys Band, was President of the 1975 Kulpmont Centennial, ran for tax collector and sheriff, was a volunteer ambulance driver, a volunteer fireman with the East End Fire Company, and was the Grand Marshal of the 2016 Centennial parade, symbolically passing down his "Man of the Year" statue to Nick Bozza, president of the Kulpmont 100, organizers of the events celebrating 100 years of Kulpmont's incorporation.  Mostly, Bob was proud of and loved his hometown of Kulpmont.

Bob loved entertaining, particularly at home during Christmas, offering a shot of his homemade Bailey's to anyone who visited and at his trailer "over in the country". He was a storyteller and enjoyed making people laugh. He was a cook at the K & H hunting camp, loved canning chow chow and sauerkraut and sharing it with friends and family. He dabbled in photography and woodworking and he enjoyed signing his pools at all the local establishments. He was an avid Mount Carmel Football team fan and attended every home and away game for years.

Bob is survived by his two daughters, Karen Beisel and her husband, Steve of Collegeville and Jolene Redd and her fiance, Dan Joraskie of Kulpmont; eight grandchildren, Morgan Narkiewicz of NY, Adam Narkiewicz and his wife, Aimee of FL, Kyle Kamarunas and his wife, Jenn of SC, Kevin Kamarunas and his fiance, Lexi of West Norriton, Konner Kamarunas and his wife, Brittany of NC, Kayla Kamarunas of Collegeville, Steven Beisel and his wife, Rachel of West Chester, and Jeff Beisel and his partner, Mikaila of West Chester; eight great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Brielle, and Ava Kamarunas of SC, Kali and Carter Kamarunas of West Norriton, Kaden, Kenzie and baby (due in May) Kamarunas of  NC, and Lane and baby (due in February) Beisel of West Chester,  a sister-in-law, Stella Rossi, many nieces and nephews and his two favorite Chihuahuas, Paisley and Emma. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, three sisters, Lorraine Fallat, Marie Bardales, Katherine Durkin, four brothers, Edward, Anthony, Bernard, and Walter, many brothers and sisters in -law, and several nieces and nephews.

Robert C. Kaminsky, 89, of 851 Spruce St., Kulpmont – Funeral Mass will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. Viewing will be held prior to the service from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. with transferal prayers at 11 a.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, Malcom C. Farrow IV, Supervisor.
