Mount Carmel – Robert Shuda, 66, of Freedom Court 300 W. 7th Street, passed away suddenly on October 9, 2023, at his residence.

He was born in Pittsburgh on August 17, 1957, the son of the late William V. and Mary (Matsko) Shuda.

Robert graduated from Langley High School in Pittsburgh, class of 1975. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1975-1979. Robert earned an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts at the Pittsburgh Culinary Institute. He worked as a chef in various restaurants in the Pittsburgh area and also as a trackman for Norfolk and Western Railway. On March 15, 2020, he moved to the Mount Carmel area.

Robert was a member of the Orthodox Faith. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, including the Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, and the Panthers College team. He enjoyed cooking for his family, friends, and neighbors.

Robert is survived by two sisters, Ellen Calabrese and husband, Michael of SC and Diane Spangler and partner, Marie Chamblee of NC; a nephew, Michael Calabrese, and wife, Jennifer of SD; a niece, Laura Calabrese of SC; as well as various cousins.

Funeral Arrangements will be announced at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mount Carmel VFW Post 2110, 19 W. 2nd St., Mount Carmel, PA, 17851.
